Sacred Circle: A Women's Breathwork Immersion
A collaboration of techniques from the Live in Rhythm School of Yoga and Grof® Breathwork
February 12–16, 2025 | Shakti Shala Home, North Fork, CA
Step into a transformative five-day retreat where ancient wisdom meets modern healing practices. This unique immersion weaves together GROF® Breathwork, yoga, Chinese medicine, and acupuncture, creating a sacred space for deep personal exploration and renewal.
In this intimate gathering, women are invited to set aside their daily roles and responsibilities, allowing themselves to be held by a carefully crafted tapestry of healing modalities. Our experienced staff - Colleen Reid, Angela Patriarca, Wendy Boes and Melanie Kaplan - guide participants through a journey of self-discovery and profound healing.
At the heart of this retreat lies GROF® Breathwork, a powerful method of self-exploration that induces deep holotropic states of expanded consciousness. Through accelerated breathing, evocative music, and focused bodywork, participants access multiple levels of human experience - from biographical memories to transpersonal realms. Each session is conducted with trained facilitators who support participants throughout their journey, followed by integration through expressive arts therapy, movement and group sharing. This transformative practice often leads to profound personal insights, reduced anxiety, enhanced spiritual connectedness, and a deeper sense of inner peace.
Within our sacred circle, women discover their bodies as microcosms of the universal whole. Through the integration of yoga and Chinese medicine, participants learn to recognize how their bodies hold unprocessed experiences and emotions. This understanding becomes a gateway for reclaiming forgotten or disconnected aspects of self, particularly those dimmed by life's challenges and transitions.
We create a safe, shared sanctuary where women can truly exhale and release, supported by both ancient healing traditions and the collective energy of sisterhood. This container allows for the gentle exploration and integration of accumulated experiences, while breaking free from limiting patterns of thinking and behavior.
Come be held in the embrace of sisterhood, nourished by ancient wisdom, and awakened to the natural cycles of healing within and without.

Grof breathwork Facilitators in Training
Wendy Boes
Wendy was introduced to holotropic breathwork in early sobriety as a way to access non ordinary states without the use of substances. The power of using just breath and music to access these profoundly regenerating and healing states moved her greatly and have lead her to deeply believe in the power of the healing intelligence we all have access to. She is currently a student in the Grof Legacy Training Program to become a certified Grof Breathwork Facilitator.
